Amazing that this survived the test of time.
This is not the typical letter a construction worker would expect to find when working on a chimney, we imagine, but that’s exactly what Lewis Shaw discovered recently.
According to UPI, the 24-year-old stumbled upon the letter when dismantling a chimney from the 1930’s, written by a man named David, and was clearly moved, judging by his reaction.
He took to Facebook with his discovery, giving his opinion on how much the world has changed over the intervening decades.
Pulled a chimney down this morning from a 1930s semi in Caversham, found this Christmas list from a kid called David….

Shaw then asked the neighbours for more information and through Facebook it is believed that he is tracking down the man himself.
