Earlier in the week Rachael Allen was baking some tasty cakes at the Audi Centre in Ballsbridge so JOE went along for a taste and a test of the new Audi A8 and Q7.

When JOE was invited to a brunch with Rachael Allen, to eat some freshly baked cupcakes and to test out some brand new Audi’s, we thought all our Christmases had come at once. The Audi Centre in Ballsbridge was packed full of the top heads from the company, including Richard Hemming who is head of business at the Audi Centre. So it’s safe to say we felt a tad out of place in jeans and Vans.

However, that didn’t stop us from enjoying Rachael Allen’s freshly baked cupcakes (ohhhhh, yes) and having a spin in the brand new Audi A8 (pictured above) and Audi Q7, which is the Big Berta of the Audi range.

The Audi Q7

The Audi A8 is the ultimate executive car and perfect for any JOE with a few quid to spare. If you were to class the A8 as a house, it would be the penthouse apartment that sits above the city which constantly has hot chicks lounging in the hot tub on the balcony. It’s classy, but it definitely has an edge to it.

The model that we tested had a 3.0 TDI 250 quattro tiptronic engine and to get one on the road you’ll have to fork over a cool €95,150. But sure, that’s a*se pocket change to half of you JOE’s out there.

As for the Q7, it’s definitely the perfect motor for the JOE that has a brood of young kids. You’ll pull up to meetings looking flash, but you’ll also be able to take half of your kid’s football team to the next match. So it’s definitely an all-rounder.

The Q7 we tested had a 3.0 TDI 204 quattro tiptronic sports engine and you could really feel the ponies pulling when you put the foot down. If you yourself want to be the cool dad on the school run then the Q7 will set you back €75,000.

Oh, and as for Rachael Allen, here’s a lovely photo of her (the cupcakes were pretty tasty too).

mmmmmmmmh… cake
