Setting a new precedent, Ralph Lauren will be the only sponsor to appear on the New York Times iPad app for September.
We’ve been told by our “sources” in the fashion industry that September is a busy time for labels to promote their wears for autumn and Ralph Lauren is no different.
They have traditionally opted for the front page takeover of the newspaper in years gone by but with the Times’ app figures reading at 850,000 unique visitors per month, the decision was taken to run the digital campaign.
In fact – since the app was launched – it has been downloaded 2.5 million times and counting.
The sponsorship will provide users with free access to five paid sections; including Fashion & Style, Home & Garden, T Magazine, Sports and Travel. We knew you’d perk up when you heard free sports.
For those who take a keen interest in fashion, you’ll also be glad to know that Ralph Lauren will run live streaming video of its Fashion Week runway show on 15 September. Oh we can’t wait!
