Fancy heading out for a nice relaxing road trip this weekend? Here’s a look at three great places you could head to, whether it’s with the family, or on your own.

Sometimes, there’s nothing better than hopping into the car and forgetting all of life’s woes with a nice long and relaxing road trip. So JOE and MSL have teamed up to bring you three ‘Road Trip’ options that will suit all kinds of drivers; from the experienced long trekkers to the restless short stoppers.

Have a flutter on the horses in Limerick

Why not travel to Greenmount Park on Sunday and have a punt on one of the oldest races in Ireland, the Munster National. Don’t fancy your chances on the horses? Then don’t worry, as there will be music and food to keep you happy throughout.

Depending on who you’re travelling with, a lovely lady in your party may even have a go at being a winner, as there is a €4,000 diamond ring up for grabs on the day for the best dressed lady. And of course, there will be plenty of entertainment for the little ones too. What more could you ask for?

Go to Galway for the arts

baboro

Do you have a little artist in your house who just needs to vent? If the answer is “yes” then you should probably be bringing them to the Baboró art festival for children in Galway this weekend.

For 18 years, Baboró have been bringing world-renowned and local artists together for the purpose of entertaining and enchanting the little JOEs in your life. And don’t be fooled by the title, there are plenty of shows for us older children too so get ready to channel your inner Picasso and paint the best goddamn hand-prints you’ve ever done. Mama JOE will have it up on the fridge in no time.

The full programme is available to download here.

Get a taste of France on Merrion Square this Saturday

There are worse ways to get over the post-holiday blues than getting your arse down to 63 Merrion Square and feasting on some fantastic French food. Breads, cakes, wines and many other products will be available on the day.

You will also be able to meet some of Dublin’s top producers of French food. JOE is hungry, just thinking about it. More details about the event are available here.
