Science shows that there are four very specific types of drunk people in the world

Makes sense

It’s the weekend which means that a fair few of you lovely people will be unwinding from the busy working week with a few drinks in your local… and by a few I mean 27.

I’m kidding of course, always drink responsibly, but even the holiest of priests will probably admit to being slightly tipsy on at least one occasion.

It’s ok to admit that you’ve been drunk before, just blame it on your friend that ‘forced’ you into coming out, the fact that you didn’t have time to eat a dinner or that ‘dodgy’ pint that you were served. We believe you. *Cough, cough*.

This being said, we all know someone that likes to define themselves as a happy drunk while others aren’t as jovial and happy-go-lucky as some of your other mates.

A recent survey was published in Addiction Research & Theory that defined four very distinct categories of drunk people and the characteristics are quite interesting.

Tyrion Drunk

The largest group, at approximately 40 percent, was the Ernest Hemingways. These people are defined as not showing any significant changes in personality when they have a few jars. Basically, they’re sauce warriors that almost have an immunity to drink.

The second group are what’s known as ‘Mary Poppins drinkers’ and these people are your fun drunks who get sweeter, happier and more prone to dancing with the help of alcohol.

Homer Dancing

We all know someone that falls into the ‘Nutty Professor’ category, basically those guys that are usually very quiet but go a little bit crazy when they’ve had a few.

They usually do very odd stuff.

Nobody wants to belong in the final grouping though because ‘Mr Hyde’s’ are defined as “less responsible, less intellectual, and more hostile when under the influence of alcohol”.

Don’t be that guy, no one likes him. Anyways, pint?
