Do you have a load of female friends? Well according to scientists men’s friendships with women are driven by sexual desire.
This looks like a story that you might want to keep away from the missus as scientists from Wisconsin have claimed that men befriend women on their sexual attractiveness, and it doesn’t even matter if the bloke is in a relationship or not.
So it looks like we only want to be friends with the good-looking girls? Well, it’s only natural, right? On the other hand, women are more likely to see you as ‘just a friend’ and they only see their male mates as ‘more than just friends’ if their own relationship is going down the pan.
The scientists issued a survey to 88 pairs of young male and female friends, and it asked them to rate their counterpart’s attractiveness. It found that the lads were more likely to fancy their females friends, regardless if they already had a partner and the lads also assumed that their female friends were more into them then they actually were.
So if you think your hot female friend likes you just as much as you like her, then you’re probably barking up the wrong tree.
However, as we get older the attraction wares off. A further survey was handed out to 140 middle-aged people, who were almost all married and it found that us blokes just give up hope on our good looking female friends after awhile.
It just goes to show what marriage will do to you.
