After heading off on a lovely trip to North Korea, Denis Rodman also appeared at the Vatican this week in a spate of strange behaviour.

Normally, Dennis Rodman could probably appear in the Space Cadets Hall of Fame thanks to his bizarre dress sense and even stranger haircuts, but he has made himself the newest and most famous diplomat in the world in recent days, jetting around the globe from North Korea to the Vatican City.

We suggest it’s no coincidence that as soon as the big man landed in Italy, they got the job done in electing a new Pope, and he arrived in style… Just check out this jacket:

Last week, Dennis headed over to North Korea to meet their leader Kim Jong-un, who has been making some fairly interesting declarations about the nuclear power they’ve got their hands on, which would normally make most people nervous, but not Rodman.

The former Chicago Bull and Los Angeles Laker came back from his trip with a glowing endorsement of the beloved Korean leader, telling ABC news in America “I love the guy, he’s so honest”. That’s one way of putting it anyway.

Jimmy Kimmel, fortunately for us, speaks fluent Rodman, and helped us to have a better understanding of whatever it was that he was talking about during the interview with ABC. Check it out below…

He glosses over a few of the more unsavoury facts that Kim Jong-un has on his resume, you know the usual, nuclear bombs, prison camps, all of that type of stuff with a simple “he’s just a great guy”.

Once he’d finished his trip to North Korea though, Rodman was back on a plane again, this time headed to the Big Chapel, the Vatican City, just as the papal conclave was trying to decide on their new leader.

Within hours of Rodman touching down, the lads had their man, Argentine Jorge Mario Bergoglio, which unfortunately was not the man Rodman had arrived to lend his support to. Cardinal Peter Turkson of Ghana was the Hall of Famer’s favourite to win, but unluckily for Dennis, there’s only one big man that the lads in charge at the world’s best art gallery listen to, and it ain’t Rodman.

We’re waiting with baited breath to see exactly where his next trip will take him, and as soon as there’s another politically charged international crisis we can expect to see the pierced visage of the 6’5 Rodman getting involved to get the job done.

In fact, we reckon he should change his name to Dennis “Diplomacy” Rodman. It’s got a great ring to it…
