Spain guaranteed gold medal for Olympics’ worst dressed athletes with this awful get-up

However their athletes perform at the Olympics, Spain should at least be guaranteed the gold medal for the worst-dressed athletes thanks to this unsightly get-up.

However their athletes perform at the Olympics, Spain should at least be guaranteed the gold medal for the worst-dressed athletes thanks to this unsightly get-up.

Thankfully, when they are training and competing, Olympic athletes spend most of their time in spandex outfits where style takes a back seat to performance and comfort, but the Spanish athletes are certain to attract a few sympathetic looks around the Olympic village when they walk around in this polo tee-shirt.

What the designers were thinking when they came up with a pattern more suited to an elaborate rug we have no idea, but it turns out that a Russian company designed Spain’s Olympic outfits at no cost whatsoever. Unfortunately for the poor athletes that will have to wear them, it shows.

The polo shirt is bad, but on the evidence of the image of some of the rest of the Olympic gear below, there is no casual gear the Spanish team can wear that won’t attract the attention of the Olympic fashion police.

Let’s hope for Spain’s sake that their performance at the Olympics can help take away from the attention that these garish outfits are bound to attract in London over the next few weeks.
