Steve Jobs, fashion icon

Is Steve Jobs' trademark black turtle-neck about to become a fashionable item of clothing?

JOE

Since his death last week Apple founder Steve Jobs has been lauded as a technological visionary and genius. Now you can add fashion icon to the list.

Jobs was famed for sporting a black turtle neck, and $175 St. Croix cotton black turtlenecks were his favourites.

Bernhard Brenner, the founder of Knitcraft, St. Croix’s parent company, speaking to the Washington Post, revealed that the day after Jobs died, sales of the item doubled and they are currently out of stock.

Jobs bought two dozen every year and as a tribute to him, St Croix are donating $20 from every sale to cancer research.

For the hardcore Apple fans there is a movement to have this Friday, October 14th, turned into ‘Turtle-neck Friday’ a day of tribute to Jobs but if you want to follow the trend you won’t be able buy one of Jobs preferred garments until they get more stock in at the end of the month.
