The 5 components of the perfect JOE picnic

When you go down to the woods today...

JOE

A picnic. Not traditionally the vocation of the Irish man.

Why’s that? Well, to be honest we’ve no idea.

They’re great fun. You get to eat all your favourite grub and enjoy the great outdoors. Ideal.

If this sounds good to you, then you’ve come to the right place.

JOE, with thanks to Keogh’s Crisps, have put together a list of the perfect components of a lad’s picnic.

Here they are.

The ideal picnic partner

Keogh’s did a survey on Ireland’s ideal picnic partner and Brian O’Driscoll and Amy Huberman came out on top.

Personally, we’d pick Amy, but each to one’s own.

Sunshine

A big ask in Ireland, but on those days when the sun does actually appear, is there anywhere better?

Of soft drinks, obviously…

The perfect snacks

The survey also showed that 96 per cent of people think that crisps are an integral part of the picnic experience.

You can’t argue with those numbers.

An ideal location

If there’s one thing we’re not short on here in Ireland, it’s lovely parks. Whether it’s Eyre Square in Galway or Stephen’s Green in Dublin, you’re guaranteed a decent spot to have a picnic.

Just watch out for those killer seagulls looking to rob your grub.
