The amount of Irish workers that bring Toblerone back to the office from holidays has been revealed

Conor Heneghan

Frankly, we’re astounded it isn’t higher.

We don’t have the exact figures, but we think we’re pretty sure in saying that Toblerone survives as a product solely because people buy it in airports as a token gift on their return from holidays.

In fact, returning to an office from holidays without some Toblerone for your fellow employees is almost a sackable offence, which is why we’re surprised that only 28% of Irish people admitted to doing so in a recent survey on workplace habits of employees in Ireland.

The survey, carried out by Irish Life EMPOWER, also revealed that just under half of Irish workers (47%) ‘dine al desko’ (eat lunch at their desk) on a regular basis and that 77% of them believe that they should be earning more money than they are currently.

Elsewhere in the survey, it was revealed that 22% of office workers admitted to having an office romance at some point, more than a third have had an office crush and four in ten believe they could do a better job than their boss.

All interesting points, but we still can’t get over that Toblerone figure; some people need to have a long, hard look at themselves.
