This man wants to thank the people who came to his aid in the Phoenix Park on Sunday

Who doesn’t love a good ‘kindness of strangers’ story?

JOE reader Jim Kelly was out for a run in the Phoenix Park on Sunday when he injured his ankle.

He got in touch with us to pass on a note of thanks to the couple who went out of their way to help him out.

Jim writes: “I’m wondering if you might be able to help me out with something? I was out running in the Phoenix Park around 4.30pm and went over my ankle. Did a right job on it.

“I was in quite a bit of pain and was a little vocal about it (embarrassingly enough). I knew I wouldn’t be able to get back to the gym and in my despair I flagged a car down. I met a lovely couple and their young son (I think his name was Rory. 3-years-old maybe)).

“They weren’t heading in the gym direction but they brought me there anyway. I never got their names but I’m looking to send out a thank you to them and I was wondering if you could throw it up on Facebook for me?

“No worries if you can’t. I’m just so very grateful for the lift. I’d have been on massive trouble if it wasn’t for them. Ya can’t beat the kindness of strangers sometimes.”
