Fashion designers Isaac Mizrahi and Vera Wang (pictured) and French luxury footwear brand Berluti have all announced their first ever forays into menswear.

Vera Wang, famous for her range of wedding dresses, will send a tuxedo collection to market in the United States in the New Year.

Entitled “Black by Vera Wang”, the range will be available from Wearhouse stores in the US and Moore’s Clothing for Men in Canada from around April.

It’s not yet known when the range will be available on this side of the Atlantic, but early reports are that the prices will not be excessively prohibitive – suits will be available for rent from around the $200 dollar mark, which translated to the Irish market would be only slightly more expensive than the common-or-garden tux from various rental stores.

Mizrahi, meanwhile, will also launch an initial foray into menswear with a range of dress shirts, ties and cravats in the US.

They won’t be available in America until the second half of next year, but if you’re travelling Stateside next autumn you could be among the first to pick up a few pieces of that particular collection, which is liable to make you seem seriously sophisticated when you brag about it in the pub before Christmas 2012.

Sophisticated, or maybe a prat. One or the other.

Finally, in a busy week for menswear announcements around the world, Berluti, which has specialised in luxury men’s shoes to this point, will show its first menswear collection to the public at Paris Menswear Fashion Week in January.

The collection has been designed by Berluti’s artistic director Alessandro Sartori, who has been the creative influence behind ranges from Ermenegildo Zegna in the past and was appointed to a new role at Berluti earlier this year with the remit to transform the century-old footwear company into a leading player in the menswear marketplace.
