Irina Adashkevich, Digital Marketing Manager with the Digital Marketing Institute, is here today to bring us her top five car adverts of all time.

Here’s the top 5 car advertising videos, that are simply amazing, and quiet unconventional compared to the slow-motion-in-sunset type commercials that we’re so used to seeing on TV.

5. Honda Accord ‘Cog’

Honda’s 2003 advert simply named ‘Cog’ follows a chain of colliding parts taken from a disassembled Accord. This advert has gained the no.5 five spot mainly for its originality and geekiness. How many takes do you think it took?

4. Volkswagen ‘The Bark Side’

The 4th spot goes to the famous Volkswagen ad with dogs barking a Darth Vader tune – you don’t even see a car in it at all, which just proves once again it’s all about the perception of the brand. It was originally made as a teaser for VW’s Superbowl half-time commercial and it certainly left us waiting to see what was in store on the day.

3. Chevrolet Sonic ‘Chevy Sonic Stunts: Street Art Documentary’

The Chevrolet Sonic advert takes the 3rd place by using the approach that seems to be a global trend in advertising right now, which is featuring brilliant artists and performers with an advertised car being merely a part of the video setting. It makes the brand look cool, while they also help street artists by promoting them.

2. Toyota Sienna ‘Swagger Wagon’

My old time favourite is a Toyota ad for its Sienna SE, which is really unique and absolutely hilarious. This ad shows how even a family car can be cool. Although, if those were your parents, you may not think the same.

1. Peugeot 208 ‘Let Your Body Drive’

And the winner is the ad for new Peugeot – a lone car in an empty car park where dance sensation, Marquese Scott, shows off his unreal pop-lock moves. You only see the car for a short amount of time, but it’s enough to make an impact on the viewer.
