Think of Guinness and it’s hard not to think of anything but a creamy pint of the black stuff, but they’ve added another string to their bow.

Earlier today at St. James’ Gate, Guinness brewers announced the release of Hop House 13 Lager, which is available on draught from today in selected pubs on the island of Ireland.

If you’re interested in the finer details, you might like to know that the lager is made from Guinness yeast, Irish barley and the best of hops from both Australia and USA – Galaxy, Topaz, (AUS) and Mosaic (USA).

It’s aroma, meanwhile, is said to be sweet and fruit with hints of apricot and peach, it’s crisp and hoppy with a refreshing clean finish.

You can listen to the brewers behind the project going into more detail in the video above.

Whether it will live up to all the good things they’re saying about it, well, there’s only one way to find out.
