As the old saying goes, “there’s no ‘I’ in team” and that’s certainly the case in Formula 1 where a pit stop can make or break your whole race…
Having a seriously fast driver behind the wheel of an F1 car won’t guarantee you victory. You need a team of specialist engineers who know the ins and outs of the car better than anyone else and the lads from the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team pit crew certainly know their car.
Here they are practicing their pit stops at last weekend’s Aussie Grand Prix on both Hamilton’s and Rosberg’s cars and thanks to some nifty GoPro camera work we get to see an up close and personal perspective of all the action.
It might seem like a whole load of the same stuff over and over again, but practice makes perfect, and perfection wins races. It really is some amazing work.
