VIDEO: Laurence Kinlan pays a glowing tribute to the pubs of Dublin

Tony Cuddihy

Written and directed by Killian O’Sullivan, this is excellent.

The folks at DublinTown.ie have put together this glowing tribute to the Dublin pub, with Laurence Kinlan expertly detailing what makes sitting and talking and having the craic over a pint so special.

The piece is written and directed by Killian O’Sullivan, with Kinlan – best know for his role as Elmo in Love/Hate – waxing lyrical about how pubs in Dublin have changed over the years yet how, in another way, they haven’t changed at all.

“She’s there for us when we come together to cheer on our Boys in Green, share a basket of cocktail sausages in Murray’s, gazing at the big screen… And the food, oh my GOD the food…” he says as he passes some of the city’s most popular haunts.

If you’ve ever taken a pint in The Long Hall, Hogan’s, Madigan’s, The Stag’s Head or in any of Dublin’s hundreds of public houses, then give this a watch.

It’s arguably one of the best unintentioanl tourism videos you’ll see all year.
