VIDEO: Looking for a deal this Cyber Monday? You should watch this video first

Some useful information

JOE

It’s Cyber Monday and many of you will be looking for online bargains.

But generally speaking if something looks too good to be true then it probably is.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission’s Fergal O’Leary went on Ireland AM to share this and many other pieces of useful information for online shoppers.

Mr O’Leary also stated that: “You have a 14 day ‘change of mind period’ and that starts when the goods are delivered to you.” He also said that sellers have to provide full information to the consumer before the sale.

Other tips for buying online include –

  • Buy from a reputable website.
  • Read the terms and conditions before you buy.
  • Beware of sites that have only recently been set up.
  • Always use a secure method of payment.
