“If you do not wear a seatbelt, not only are you risking your own life, but you also become a potential killer if there is a crash.”
That’s the message champion rally driver, Daniel McKenna, is trying to get across in this new video for the Road Safety Authority.
As a top rally driver, McKenna knows more than most the importance of safety.
In 2014, one-in-five people who died in a car crash weren’t wearing seatbelts.
There’s also the penal risk, as you’ll be slapped with three penalty points and a €60 fine if the Garda catch you driving without one.
For something that requires almost no effort, it is baffling to think that there are still some people who still refuse to wear one. Don’t be a risk to both yourself and other passengers.
Wear your seatbelt.
