Video: ‘Speed Sisters’ is a documentary about badass Arab female drifters… it looks class

Oisin Collins

Here’s a trailer for a pretty cool looking documentary that features some Palestinian female racing drivers and drifters who want to prove that going sideways and burning rubber isn’t just for blokes.

Speed Sisters follows the footsteps, and tyre marks, of a group of Palestinian women including the Texas-born Noor Daoud (pictured above), known as the ‘badass’ of the group, who strive to have fun and compete in racing events in the often-tense West Bank.

Their website reads: “Brought together by a common desire to live life on their own terms, several determined Palestinian women have taken on the street car speed test circuit of the West Bank—competing against each other for the title of fastest woman, for bragging rights for their home city, and to prove that women can compete head on with men in Palestine and beyond.”

It certainly looks like it could be a good watch, but the film is currently still in production and needs outside help, so if you’d like to donate a few quid in order to see the movie finally produced click over here.

In the meantime, check out the girls’ video profiles below…
