There’s an almost bewildering array of men’s fragrances on the market at the moment. For those who don’t mind walking into their local chemist or department store to sample the goods this is no bad thing, variety being the spice of life and all that.
But for the many men who just want to get in and either buy what they like or just buy something and get the hell out then it can be a chore too far.
So, just to make it that little bit easier on you, we, the good people of JOE.ie, have compiled a list (in no particular order) of 5 best selling fragrances for men that’ll be sure to turn the heads (and maybe the hearts) of females out there.
There’s a mix of the old and the new here, and they’re all easily available in your local fragrance emporium, chemist or Spar (OK, so maybe not your local Spar, but you know what we’re getting at). Whatever your choice is, just don’t take a bath in it. Subtlety is the key gents.
1. Marc Jacobs Bang
Its advertising campaign and indeed the eye-catching bottle divide opinion but the striking peppery and vetiver elegance of the fragrance are winning it plaudits. A head-turner. It’s fragrance Jim, but not as we know it.
2. Paco Rabane Million
The gaudy looking gold bottle doesn’t seem to put young men off their little bit of Paco Rabane, oh no! Sweet, spicy, enchanting and long-lasting, this is a big hit with the opposite sex… then again, it is spicy and long-lasting so why wouldn’t it be. Bam!
3. Armani Code
It’s insane how popular this citrusy and lightly spicy fragrance is with men, young and old. Updates such as Armani Code Black do well but it’s the classic original we keep going back for in our droves.
4. Ralph Lauren Big Pony 1
The classic Polo green bottle and gold lid has been updated with four all-new separate Big Pony fragrances, including this fresh, sporty number. Light and fruity with a lime hit, Big Pony 1 is a summer scent for the younger heads.
5. Gucci Pour Homme II
This distinctive, long-lasting fragrance is a proven hit with the ladies. It’s clean, musky and woody tones will certainly get you a bit of “what are you wearing?” attention from the opposite sex, if that’s your thing. It is? Well, that’s alright then.
