How to stay classy without bothering with cuff links and cumerbunds.
Very occasionally, a clothing trend comes along to make us stop, scratch our heads, wipe our eyes, look to the heavens and say out loud to nobody in particular…
“Surely this can’t actually be a thing now?”
We spoke those words when those early ’90s check shirts found a new home on the backs of the bearded hipster generation but nothing quite compares to the Traxedo.
Half tracksuit, half tuxedo.
The brainchild of Irishman John Hughes and his friends, who invented the Traxedo a couple of years ago, and now they’re really beginning to take off for stag parties across the globe.
Hughes told Uproxx: “While sitting around someone said, ‘Why not Tuxedos’? One of us had heard a myth about a tuxedo tracksuit but we couldn’t find anything online. So a very talented designer friend of ours whipped up a few basic models and with that the Traxedo was born!”
As you can see, it’s quite… something…

“Our customers have worn them sky diving, to football matches, weddings, even sky diving. One of our customers ran the Boston marathon in one then got married straight after, still suited up! Some wear them just chilling around the house, some wear them for a night on the town. It’s up to you!”
While we salute John’s entrepreneurial bravado, we think we might just stick to waltzing around the JOE office in nought but a sarong and a pair of cowboy boots.
We’re individuals.
