What does $11m worth of car vomit look like? This actually

Here we have a gold-plated, ruby-encrusted Mercedes SLR that would make even the richest oil Barron sick to his stomach.

If we won the Euromillions here at JOE, we’d take a day off to go buy some ridiculously expensive motors, just because we could – it’s the Euromillions after all.

However, we’d hand over no amount of money for this hideous beast of a car, even thought it’s an absolute beast of a car.

The SLR is one powerful machine to begin with, but this monstrosity is even more powerful as it cracks out 700 bhp thanks to an out of house tuned engine.

However, the owner, Swiss club owner and Thai-food impresario Ueli Anlicker, want’s to take it up to Veyron and Agera standards making it 1,000 bhp before he sells it. How much is he looking to sell it for? A staggering $11m or €8m in real money Euro.

So what makes this car so bloody expensive? Well the fact that the ‘Red Gold Dream’, as it’s called, has been decorated with 500 rubies — including the rubies that comprise its wheel nuts — and the fact that it’s covered in 14-karat gold, might have a factor on the price.

We’re not too sure what the appeal of encrusting your car with jewels is, but sure, all to their own.
