What do women want?
It’s a question that stumps even the best men.
In the lead up to Valentine’s day, it’s even more complicated. But now is not the time for worry.
Now is the time for JOE’s guide to ace-ing V-day.
Follow our tips and you are guaranteed to have a Valentine’s day to remember (wink, wink).
In the lead up to the big day…
Relationship
Firstly let us tell you, under NO circumstances does “no, I really don’t want anything this year” mean you don’t have to get her anything.
We’ve all made that mistake; taking the literal meaning from what our girlfriend was literally saying.
It usually ends with this response.
Why not get her a present you can both enjoy this year. Durex have an entire collection of alternative gifts, which can spice up your night.
Single
There has never been a better time to be single… said the guy crying into his third portion of spaghetti Bolognese, while quickly editing his Tinder profile on Valentine’s day.
The old rhetoric of ‘fail to plan, plan to fail’ is very true for singletons on V-day.
If there is a person you like, ask them out NOW. It’s the time of year for love and all that jazz.
If there isn’t anyone, find a great singles’ party and enjoy yourself.
The Night Itself…
Relationship
Book a table well in advance.
You don’t want to be having a romantic meal at McDonald’s, again… no matter how much she says she loves McFlurry’s.
Singles
If you’re planning a date, the same rules apply. Book early to avoid screaming kids and family restaurants.
If you plan is to hit the town, remember a couple of things: drinking more does not, we repeat does NOT, make you more attractive.
AND you still can’t dance.
The Bedroom…
Relationship
You’re in a relationship, so we’re going to paint with a broad stroke here and say you know what your partner likes and don’t need our advice for that aspect.
But one thing you should definitely do, is ensure you have condoms.
Nothing kills the mood like a quick run to the local garage for some protection.
Singles
Hopefully your night won’t end with you painting in broad strokes, if you know what we mean.
If you do end up getting lucky, the last thing you want to happen is the mood to be killed by neither of you having protection.
Well, that’s the second last thing you want to happen. The last is an STD.
So don’t forget to buy condoms ahead of Valentine’s Day.
