Would you buy these pants? David Beckham’s H&M advert

Yesterday, the first television advert for David Beckham Bodywear was released. Based on the advert itself, we have to ask - would you buy these pants?

JOE

Yesterday H&M released its first television advert for David Beckham Bodywear. Thousands of women across the globe are no doubt drooling over the YouTube video as we speak.

The 30-second black and white clip features Mr Beckham, clad in his underpants, stretching and flexing all his muscles, as you do like. Viewers are also treated to a close-up shot of the Beckham label which is conveniently located right above David’s crotch. Awesome.

The advertisement might make your girlfriend rush to the nearest shop and buy fifty pairs of Beckham pants but we have to ask – would it make you want to buy them? Would you be happy enough to wander down the street with a piece of material designed by David Beckham protecting you from the elements?

You have to admit, hot and all as David Beckham is, this advert wasn’t exactly made with the average male in mind. The lighting, the music, the close up of Beckham’s ass – it’s all designed to trick your girlfriend into thinking that all any man really wants is a pair of Beckham pants.

While you may not be excited about the launch of the collection, David himself admitted that he was over the moon that the entire world will get to see him in his boxers on Super Bowl Sunday.

“I’m excited about my bodywear ad featuring in this year’s Super Bowl. My design team and I spent 18 months developing the collection, it’s been a fantastic collaborative experience, and I’m very happy with the end result,” he said.

The David Beckham Bodywear line will go on sale in H&M stores on Thursday – just in time for Valentine’s Day, so if your girlfriend hands you a H&M bag on the day, chances are you already know what she’s after getting you.
