Given the problems with Irish Water, it’s good to see hydrophobia make the top ten.
What are you most afraid of? Any strange phobias out there that you can share with us?
JOE, for example, grew up with an irrational fear of air hostesses and their remarkable, unflappable poise. It freaks us out to this day.
Other than that it’s just the usual – wasps, enclosed spaces, heights and Iain Dowie’s facial gymnastics. Eesh.
Yahoo have released a list of their top ten most searched phobias, and there are some crackers in here. Anyone who has seen Stephen King’s ‘It’ will not be surprised at the inclusion of coulrophobia – the fear of clowns – as well as arachnophobia (spiders), emetophobia (vomit) and the weirdest one – trypophobia (holes or clusters).

9) Hydrophobia – fear of water.
8) Claustrophobia – fear of tight or enclosed spaces.
7) Emetophobia – fear of vomit.
6) Acrophobia – fear of heights.
5) Coulrophobia – fear of clowns.
4) Arachnophobia – fear of spiders.
3) Xenophobia – fear of people from different ethnic backgrounds.
2) Trypophobia – fear of irregular patterns of holes or clusters…
…and the biggest fear of all…
1) Agoraphobia – fear of crowds and situations that cause panic.
