PIC: A Tipperary man did an incredibly sound thing after coming across a car with a smashed window in Dublin

One of the good guys

Conor Heneghan

Kevin, you’re only a legend.

Just when you thought there were no more Good Samaritans out there, along comes a man from Tipperary to restore our faith in humanity.

JOE reader John Stokes wrote to us today to tell us the story of a colleague of his, Kevin, who went out of his way to help somebody met before recently.

Kevin happened upon a car with a window that had been smashed in by a rock in south Dublin. As it turns out, the owner was abroad on holidays at the time and had no idea what had happened.

Whether he knew him or not didn’t matter to Kevin, or ‘Super Kev’ as John calls him, as he took it upon himself to get some plastic wrap to put over the smashed window and so ensure that it didn’t suffer any damage from the elements in what has been an unpredictable Irish summer.

“Anybody would have done the same thing,” was Kev’s response to the gesture of class and generosity and while we’re not sure we can fully agree, we hope there’s a lot more out there just like him.

Fair play Kevin, you’re one of the good guys.
