I’m certain that your folks have already used the classic ‘the nights are getting longer’ line which means that it’s time to start making some indoor plans for the cold months ahead.

Along with some incredible returning shows like Fargo, Homeland, The Walking Dead, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah and South Park, there’s a few new gems that will be making their way to your TV screens and laptops very shortly.

The Bastard Executioner
Synopsis: Hotly tipped as the new Game of Thrones, but coming from the creators of Sons of Anarchy, the story revolves around a 14th century warrior, whose life is forever changed when a divine messenger beseeches him to lay down his sword and lead the life of another man: a journeyman executioner.
Set in northern Wales during a time rife with rebellion and political upheaval, Wilkin must walk a tight rope between protecting his true identity while also serving a mysterious destiny.
It all sounds very dark but Ed Sheeran has a cameo in it.

Ash vs. Evil Dead
Synopsis: Ash is back. Grooooovy! The scourge of the Deadite’s has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead until a new plague threatens to destroy all of mankind and Ash becomes mankind’s only hope.

Bordertown
Synopsis: Seth McFarlane’s new show revolves around two families that are living in a Southwest desert town on the United States-Mexico border.
Donald Trump will love it.

Minority Report
Synopsis: Steven Spielberg’s ’02 adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s classic sci-fi novel was one of his most visually striking and daring films.
The show follows the same premise as the movie but it picks up the story 10 years after the end of Precrime in Washington DC.
It seems that one of the three PreCogs is attempting to lead a normal life bit is still suffering from visions of the future.

The Muppets
Synopsis: Kermit and Miss Piggy may have split up but life goes on for Jim Henson’s lovable rogues.
After the Jason Segel starring film proved to be a hit at the box-office, the gang are back in this mockumentary-style series that follows their personal and professional lives.
I’m getting a strong 30 Rock meets The Office vibe from this one.
Marvel’s Jessica Jones
Synopsis: Marvel seem like their cinematic Midas touch is being replicated on the small screen because their version of Daredevil was bloody brilliant.
Their next superhero adaptation focuses on a former super-heroine who decides to reboot her life by becoming a private investigator.
The cast for this one is incredible, Krysten Ritter, David Tennant and Carrie-Anne Moss are all on board and we’re expecting a smash-hit.

Master of None
Synopsis: Parks and Recreation funnyman Aziz Ansari is the latest star to go down the semi-autobiographical route with this story of a 30-year-old actor in New York.
According to Netflix, the show will touch on “subjects as diverse as the plight of the elderly, the immigrant experience, and how to find the most delicious pasta for dinner”. One of the writers from parks and rec is involved also so we’ve got high hopes.

Narcos
Synopsis: We’re huge fans of the show here and the chances are that you’ve frequently heard from some of your mates telling you that it’s utterly brilliant. They’re right also.

The X-Files
Synopsis: We don’t have a feckin’ clue about the plot but we’re going to watch it regardless. Mulder, Scully, Skinner, aliens, occult, mysteries, the smoking man. Bring it on.
