Here are the 5 best movies on TV tonight

Rory Cashin

Got the mid-week hump? We can help with that!

You’ve got some options tonight.

The controversial Michael Jackson documentary Leaving Neverland begins tonight.

You could head to the cinema to check out some of the new releases, which we review in full here.

Or you could stream the most bonkers movie of 2019, if not of the entire decade…

If none of those suit, then maybe one of these films on TV tonight will suit instead?

WEDNESDAY 5 MARCH

Central Intelligence – FilmFour – 9.00pm

Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart prove they’ve got chemistry to spare in this funny, sorta-buddy cop action comedy about a top-secret spy (Johnson) who reunites with his high-school hero, now stuck-in-a-rut schlub (Hart) while in the middle of a big mission.

Trainwreck – ITV2 – 9.00pm

The movie that introduced the majority of the world to Amy Schumer, as she also wrote the script for this raunchy comedy about a woman who simply refuses to pump the breaks on any aspect of her life, until she meets the potential man of her dreams.

The Last Boy Scout – ITV4 – 10.30pm

Bruce Willis and Damon Wayans team up in the hyper-violent detective action-comedy-thriller (ALL of the genres!), trying to track down the murderer of a woman they both knew. From the director of Top Gun and the writer of Lethap Weapon!

RIPD – FilmFour – 11.10pm

This isn’t… a good movie. HOWEVER. The pairing of Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges is a great one, essentially doing their version of Men In Black, but with ghosts in place of aliens. Again, not a good movie, but a vaguely fun movie.

Fearless – TCM – 11.10pm

Jeff Bridges again, this time playing the survivor of a horrific plan crash, who then undergoes a massive personality change, become practically unafraid of every situation he finds himself in.
