We can’t believe it is Monday already, either…

That was quite the weekend, wasn’t it? How does 48 hours go by so quickly?

We could all use a quiet evening after that. You could head to the cinema, maybe? We’ve reviewed all of the new releases right here.

Or you could sit in and enjoy one of these instead:

MONDAY 1 JULY

Superman – Sky One – 8pm

Henry Cavill. Brandon Routh. Eh… Dean Cain. Nobody has been able to measure up to the original and best Clark Kent.

The Finest Hours – RTE Two – 9pm

Based on the true story of a coast guard boat that is split in two in a disastorous storm, and the men on board who have to work together under a new captain in order to stay alive, while a risky rescue mission is sent to save them. Stars Chris Pine, Casey Affleck, Ben Foster and Eric Bana.

Air Force One – Syfy – 9pm

President Harrison Ford finds his plane is hijacked by Russian terrorists, but this is President Harrison Ford we’re talking about here, so he isn’t just going to take this lying down!

Full Metal Jacket – TCM – 9pm

Stanley Kubrick’s pitch-black depiction of war and the perils of becoming a soldier is a tough watch, but filled with some incredible performances and iconic scenes.

Superbad – Comedy Central – 9pm

“One name, who are you, Seal?” There are so many great one-liners in this modern-classic teen-com, it must surely be one of the most quoted movies of the century.

No Escape – FilmFour – 11.35pm

Owen Wilson and Kate Beckinsale are on holiday in Asia when a sudden and violent political coup puts their lives in danger, and they are forced to go on the run with their young kids from their five-star hotel to the embassy on the other side of the city.
