Tuesday’s really feel like the evenings when you should go and enjoy a movie.
You could head to the cinema and check out one of the new releases, like Us or White Crow (our reviews here), or you could sit in and catch one of these instead.
TUESDAY 26 MARCH
Ice Age – E4 – 8.00pm
We’ll be honest, we’d rather watch an entire movie of just the big squirrel thing chasing down nuts and getting into endless trouble, but the actual plot bits around those segments aren’t the worst thing, either.
Shaun Of The Dead – ITV2 – 9.00pm
The first cinematic pairing of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost sees them as BFFs who are forced to grow up when a zombie apocalypse breaks out in London. A legitimate modern comedy classic.
Kill Bill Vol. 2 – FilmFour – 9.00pm
The one where she fights Uma Thurmann in a caravan, and gets buried alive, and finally confronts Bill himself. Not as good as the first volume, but still plenty to enjoy.
The Running Man – Syfy – 9.00pm
A classic Arnie movie, in the sense of classic as in it is old (1987!) and very much of its time, as he is dropped into a reality TV show and forced to survive a series of deadly traps and warriors for the entertainment of those at home. So… not a million miles away from I’m A Celebrity, truth be told.
One Hour Photo – Universal TV – 9.00pm
The other creepy Robin Williams movie (as in, not Insomnia), and arguably much better, as he plays a technician at a photo development store who becomes obsessed with one of his customers.
Ghost Dog: The Way Of The Samurai – FilmFour – 11.40pm
Forest Whitaker plays a contract killer, one of the best in the world with a gun and a sword, and in the spirit of the samurai, he has pledged his loyalty to a small time mobster who saved his life many years before. A funny, weird twist on the gangster movie.
Se7en – ITV4 – 12.15am
And, fittingly, our seventh pick for the night is the incredible – and incredibly dark – serial killer thriller with Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman chasing down a violent killer.
