We’re huge fans of the work that Liam Cunningham and Aiden Gillen do on Game of Thrones but there’s something missing.
Yes, the Irish brogue and charm is there, but the names of their characters – Davos Seaworth and Peter Baelish – aren’t exactly the most Gaelic sounding names.
Season 6 might be about to address this lack of an Irish ainm with the mooted introduction of a brand new character.
Move over Melisandre because there’s a new priestess in the realm.
GOT fansite Watcher on the Wall revealed details on an alleged leaked audition tape from British actress Tehmina Sunny after she read for the part of a red priestess, by the name of Kinvara.
We wonder if she hails from a little sea port village located in the south of Galway? We know nothing.
The audition video has since been taken down, but like the Master of Whispers, the website managed to transcribe some of its secrets.
One final spoiler alert because this post features details of Tyrion and Daenery’s fate.
It reads:
Kinvara: ‘Her dragons are fire made flesh. A gift from the Lord of Light. But you’ve heard all of this before, haven’t you? On the Long Bridge of Volantis? The dragons purify nonbelievers by the thousands, burning their sins and flesh away.’
Tyrion/Varys: ‘Ideally, we’d avoid purifying many non-believers. The Mother of the Dragon has followers from many different faiths.’
Kinvara: ‘You want your queen to be worshiped and obeyed. And while she’s gone, you want her advisors to be worshiped and obeyed.’
Tyrion: ‘I’d settle for obeyed.’
Kinvara: ‘I will summon mummers and appoint priests. They will spread the word. Daenerys has been sent to lead the people against the darkness.. for this war, and the Great War yet to come.’
Varys: ‘That sounds excellent. A man named Stannis Baratheon was appointed as the Chosen One by one of your priestesses. He too had a glorious destiny. He attacked King’s Landing, and was soundly defeated by the man standing beside me. Last I heard, he’d been defeated again. This time at Winterfell.. and this time for good.’
Kinvara: ‘I will summon mummers and appoint priests. They will spread the word. Daenerys has been sent to lead the people against the darkness.. for this war, and the Great War yet to come.’
Having read this we only have one question, when can we see Season 6?
There’s more Irish centric news though as the producers are also looking for an actor to play a new character named Cian.
