Here are the best movies on TV this evening

Alan Loughnane

Movie time.

It’s Monday.

Ghostbusters – Film4 – 6.15pm

The recent remake which caused an alarming amount of controversy.

There’s some decent laughs.

The World Is Not Enough – ITV4 – 9pm

Pierce Brosnan is once again James Bond in his last good outing in the role before the utter disaster of Die Another Day.

Now You See Me – Sky One – 9pm

With its cast – Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Isla Fisher, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine and more – and its premise – magicians pulling off large-scale heists in full view of watching audiences while being chased by the FBI and Interpol – this could have been better than it is.

Jack Reacher: Never Go Back – Film4 – 9pm

Not as good as the first one.

The Hurt Locker – TG4 – 9.30pm

Jeremy Renner trains a bomb disposal team during the war in Iraq.

TIME Magazine said: “The Hurt Locker is a near-perfect movie about men in war, men at work. Through sturdy imagery and violent action, it says that even Hell needs heroes.”

The Magnificent Seven – Channel 5 – 10pm

Denzel Washington and Chris Pratt saddle up in a serviceable remake of a classic Western.
