Citadel, an Irish psychologial thriller directed by Ciaran Foy, tells the creepy tale of Tommy (Aneurin Barnard), a widower who has to raise his baby alone after a brutal attack by a strange gang leaves his wife dead and him suffering from agoraphobia.
Another laugh-a-minute romcom it is not.

The much-anticpated Citadel was already the Audience Award Winner at the prestigious SXSW Festival in 2012 and also took home the Best First Feature prize at last year’s Galway Film Fleadh so we’re expecting good things.
And, if the trailer is anything to go by there’s going to be plenty of shit-scary moments in the film itself. Lord help us all.
As a bonus it stars the great Scottish actor James Cosmo who played Campbell in Braveheart so we’re most definitely there on opening night, kilts and all.
Citadel will be released in Irish cinemas June 14th which means that we’ll all thankfully be getting the opportunity to experience this great looking Irish horror… from somewhere safe behind our box of popcorn.
