CONFIRMED: Game of Thrones season 7 will only be seven episodes long

Alan Loughnane

Say it ain’t so!

We had heard rumours about it before, but today it has been confirmed, season 7 of Game of Thrones will be considerably shorter than previous seasons.

The next season will be just seven episodes long and as we reported earlier, it will be later in 2017 when the season is aired in Ireland.

Try to be strong, we know it’s not easy…

HBO confirmed on Monday that it will be summer 2017 before we see it returns to our screens due to a weather related filming delay.

Production of season 7 will begin later this summer in Northern Ireland as well as in Spain and Iceland.

In the meantime, the best way to ease the pain of this latest Game of Thrones blow is to watch Samuel L. Jackson narrating a beginners guide to Game of Thrones. It is without doubt one of the best Game of Thrones related videos you will watch this week.

There’s also a couple of spectacular fan-made videos of Jon Snow which you can watch here and here.
