Including new stuff with Ryan Reynolds, Vin Diesel and seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.
Now that we’ve all got seeing The Batman out of our systems (unless you’re planning on going to see it a second, third, fourth time…), then this week we’re going to need a whole new set of movies and shows to check out in cinemas and at home.
Here are the new cinema releases, which will all be available on the big screens around Ireland from Friday, 11 March.
RED ROCKET
From the writer/director of two of the best hidden gem dramas of the last decade (seriously, seek out Tangerine and The Florida Project if you haven’t already), this sorta-based-on-a-true-story comedic drama focuses on a washed-up porn star (played by real-life porn star Simon Rex), who returns to his home town, only to discover his friends and family are less-than-impressed to see him again.
And now on to the stuff you can watch at home this week, starting with…
THE ADAM PROJECT
This sci-fi action adventure borrows quite a bit from E.T., Flight Of The Navigator and Back To The Future. As we said in our review, how much you will like this movie depends heavily on how much you enjoy Ryan Reynolds’ schtick.
The Adam Project is available to watch on Netflix from Friday, 11 March.
TURNING RED
Pixar’s latest outing will, just like Soul and Luca, be skipping cinemas and going straight to Disney+. It tells the story of a teenage girl who finds herself being magically transformed into a giant red panda every time she gets too excited. It is being called one of Pixar’s best ever movies, which is saying a lot.
Turning Red will be available to watch on Disney+ from Friday, 11 March.
FAST & FURIOUS 9
The stunts (and family) get bigger than ever, when Dom (Vin Diesel) is forced to battle against his own estranged brother (John Cena) in this humungous action movie. You can watch the movie with your NOW Cinema Membership from Friday, 11 March.

FORMULA ONE: DRIVE TO SURVIVE SEASON FOUR
The new season of the hugely popular series will focus on the 2021 World Championship and the fierce battle for the title between seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton and Dutch driver Max Verstappen.
All ten episodes will be available to watch on Netflix from Friday, 11 March.
UPLOAD SEASON TWO
The new season of the show from the creator of Parks & Rec and the US Office continues the sci-fi comedic premise of people being digitally uploaded to a sort of technological afterlife, where Nathan (Robbie Amell) discovers that the same issues of falling in and out love are very present even after you’ve “died”.
All seven episodes will be available to watch on Prime Video from Friday, 11 March.
