For anyone that love Kenny Powers…
In terms of what Kenny Powers has done throughout the history of Eastbound & Down, the washed-up baseball player has done some really shady shit.
He did more drugs than a rock band in the ’70s, asked the entire city of Seattle to “tongue-kiss my shit hole,” compared his comeback to that of Jesus Christ, and said that his girlfriend has clothes “like a fu*king dickhead.”
All in all, the show was the perfect launch pad for the career of Danny McBride and after impressing in the likes of Tropic Thunder, This Is The End, Hot Rod, and countless others, he’s back playing a character that appears to be tailor-made for his style of comedy.
The Righteous Gemstones revolves around a world-famous televangelist family with a long tradition of deviance, greed and charitable work.
Perfect character traits for McBride.
In terms of the supporting cast, it’s excellent withJohn Goodman, Adam Devine, and Edi Patterson all starring.
HBO have released the first trailer and we’re already excited.
The Righteous Gemstones premieres in the US on August 18 and much like most HBO shows, we expect Sky Atlantic to be showing this one in Ireland.
