Listen to JOE’s brand new GOT reaction show, The North Awaits, with Michael Fry & Carl Kinsella right here.
This does not sound good.
As always, if you’re not up to date with the latest Game of Thrones episode, consider this to be your spoiler alert warning.

“Madness and greatness are two sides of the same coin. Every time a new Targaryen is born, he said, the gods toss the coin in the air and the world holds its breath to see how it will land.” – Ser Barristan Selmy.
Daenerys has now lost Missandei, Ser Jorah, two of her dragons, a large chunk of The Unsullied and Dothraki forces, and to compound matters, she’s still not trusted by those in The North.
The rage grows.
From a certain perspective, you could argue that the Mother of Dragons is fully right to burn King’s Landing to the ground. After all, she has flirted with the idea before but Tyrion talked her out of it.
Dany has always said she didn’t want to be the Queen of the ashes but after losing Highgarden, her allies in Dorne, a large chunk of her naval power, and military numbers, unleashing Drogon on the capital might seem like the best option.
After all, Tyrion’s tactics haven’t been very successful to date.
However, Daenerys’ whole raison d’être in the show to date has been as a liberator, the breaker of chains, and somebody willing to “break the wheel”.
Any decision to raze King’s Landing to the ground and kill thousands of innocent people would seem to be completely out of character and yet, her father also wanted to murder thousands of innocent people.
To compound matters, Daenerys also burned Randyll and Dickon Tarly alive – despite Tyrion’s wishes.
“I’m not here to murder. And all I want to destroy is the wheel that has rolled over rich and poor to the benefit of no one but the Cersei Lannisters of the world. I offer you a choice. Bend the knee and join me. Together we will leave the world a better place than we found it, or refuse and die,” is what she said to the soldiers after the Loot Train attack episode.
Varys is right to be worried about the mental health of his Queen.
At present, it appears that Daenerys is veering towards madness and during the latest behind the scenes video, Emilia Clarke has given a dark insight into the mindset of her character.
“Without having someone like Ser Jorah being the mediator for those thoughts… she’s left to her own thoughts, which are — as you’d expect them to be — pretty destructive and pretty dark,” said Clarke.

We’re expecting fire and blood in the next Game of Thrones episode.
