Fancy learning the language of the Dothraki in Game of Thrones? Online lessons available soon

A new language is coming.

A new language is coming.

Fancy learning the language of the Dothraki?

The language, which features heavily in Game of Thrones, will soon be able to be studied as linguist David J. Peterson offers a Living Language Course.

Peterson is responsible for most of the Dothraki we hear on the show, having been hired by HBO to construct the language from the George RR Martin books on which the series is based.

According to The Daily Dot, “this Dothraki course won’t get you fluent, because it doesn’t really have a full vocabulary yet, but you might end up with enough conversational Dothraki to impress people at next year’s fan conventions.

“Although, if the sample phrases on the website are anything to go by (“Hrazef dik” translates to “The horse is fast”), then you’ll only be able to talk about Game of Thrones-approved topics.”

W0men will flock, or your money back.
