Sad news on Tuesday afternoon.
Game of Thrones actor Peter Vaughan has died at the age of 93.
Vaughan played the wise Maester Aemon in HBO’s epic fantasy series and Grouty in the classic TV sitcom Porridge.
He also starred opposite Anthony Hopkins in the classic drama The Remains of the Day.
“This is to confirm that very sadly Peter Vaughan passed away at approximately 10.30 this morning. He died peacefully with his family around him,” said his agent Sally Long-Innes.
Here is, arguably, his most famous scene opposite Kit Harington’s Jon Snow.
