Game of Thrones characters will die in Season Five even though they’re still alive in the books

Violence is coming

Don’t worry, we’re not going to say who it is because we don’t know.

There’s just over a month to go now until the new season of Game of Thrones hits the small screen and to say we’re excited would be an understatement.

We don’t want to know a whole lot about what’s going to happen because we’d rather find out as we go along.

Judging by what’s happened in the first four seasons, however, it’s pretty safe to say that some characters are going to meet their maker again this time around.

As the author of the books on which the series is based, you’d think that George R.R. Martin would have a degree of control over who dies in the TV series, but he has revealed that some characters will die even though they’re still alive in the books.

“People are going to die who don’t die in the books, so even the book readers will be unhappy,” Martin said in an interview with Showbiz 411.

“So everybody better be on their toes. (Show creators) David (Benioff) and D.B. (Weiss) are even bloodier than I am.”

Martin didn’t give any inkling as to who might be in danger of saying goodbye to the show – if we could spare anyone, it would probably be Tyrion – but we’d imagine that fans of the books might be a little pissed off at the news.

In any case, we’ll find out the identity/identities of the soon-to-be-deceased soon enough.

Can’t wait.
