Game of Thrones star promises “great twist” for Jon Snow in the new season (SPOILERS)

Conor Heneghan

Very, very interesting.

We warned you there would be spoilers, so anyone reading who’s not right up to date with Game of Thrones should look away now.

Now that that’s taken care of, with only three months to go until the return of Game of Thrones for a sixth season, fans are starting to get excited and excited about the fate of one character in particular.

Jon Snow met with a particularly gruesome death in the final episode of the last series, but given his popularity, a few fan theories doing the rounds and his inclusion in the Season Six teasers, we’re not willing to let him go just yet.

Maisie Williams, who plays Snow’s half-sister Arya Stark in the show, further fuelled speculation about the role of Snow in the forthcoming season when speaking to The Upcoming at the Critics’ Circle Awards in London at the weekend.

“It was awful, it was really awful – everyone was so sad about it,” Williams said of Jon Snow’s death in conversation with the Upcoming at the Critics’ Circle Awards in London at the weekend.

Speaking about might be to come for Jon Snow, Williams said: “And I feel so mean, because I speak to people and they’re all like, ‘Jon Snow, is he back?’

“And it’s really heartbreaking, because people are like, ‘Yeah, but he’s coming back though?'”

“There’s a great twist,” Williams added, “but I can’t say that he’s going to be alive.”

Whatever could that mean? We’re just going to have to wait and see and if Williams is to be believed, the new season of the show is going to be well worth that wait.

“I loved shooting this series,” she said.

“I think people are going to really enjoy it. Everything is slotting into place for the finale. I loved that all the pieces are coming together. People should be really excited.”

We are Maisie, we really, really are.
