Here are the 5 best movies on TV tonight

Carl Kinsella

We’ve almost reached the end of the week.

The sun has been out all day, maybe you’ve had a few beers, but you’ve still got go in to work tomorrow. Therefore, it might make better sense just to settle down and tune into one of the movies that will grace your telly tonight.

We’ve done our bit and found the five best on the box tonight.

From Russia With Love – 8pm – ITV4

One of the most iconic Bond films, starring Sean Connery, who is without question in the top five James Bonds. This one sees 007 sneaking around trying to steal equipment from Soviet Russia (those dastardly Soviets, always up to no good). But things aren’t quite as they seem. You know. Typical James Bond stuff.

The Intern – 9pm – Comedy Central

Anne Hathaway! Robert De Niro! Awkward office laughs! Perfect to watch if you just want to switch off your brain.

The Conjuring – 10.20pm – ITV4

There are a lot of garbage horror films out there, but The Conjuring is actually properly scary. Classic haunted house set-up. If you’re a horror movie fan then you have no excuse not to have seen this film yet. If you don’t like horror movies, then you should probably just go to bed instead.

St. Ives (All For Love) – 11:35pm – TG4

Richard E. Grant! Everyone’s favourite Oscar nominee from the 2019 Academy Awards stars in this film. A dashing French Army officer, capitaine Jacques de Keroual de Saint-Yves, is captured by the British during the Napoleonic Wars and sent to a Scottish prison camp. There he falls for a local girl, befriends the commanding officer, and discovers a surprising secret about his long-lost grandfather.

Red Eye – 12:15am – Virgin Media Two

Okay so technically this starts tomorrow, but 15 minutes after midnight seemed fair game for us. Though you might end up with Red Eyes if you stay up to watch it. Eh? Eh? Anyway, Cillian Murphy goes mental and causes all sorts of problems on an airplane.
