House of Cards confirmed for a fifth series

Alan Loughnane

Looks like we’ll be seeing a lot more of Frank Underwood…

It’s only a matter of weeks until the fourth season will be available on Netflix, and now they’ve announced that there will be a fifth season of the show.

However, there’s some bad news.

The creator, developer and producer of the popular series Beau Willimon, is leaving the show to pursue other projects.

“I’m grateful to Netflix and MRC, my fellow executive producers, our two incandescent stars Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright, our talented writers, as well as the incredible cast and crew with whom I’ve had the privilege to work,” Willimon said.

“After five years and four seasons, it’s time for me to move on to new endeavours, but I’m supremely proud of what we’ve built together, wish the show much continued success, and leave it in the hands of a very capable team.”

We’re not sure how to feel at this moment, we’re delighted the show has been renewed for a fifth season but will it be the same without Willimon on board?

Only time will tell…
