Irish farmer broke a very Irish World Record on tonight’s Big Week on the Farm

Carl Kinsella

How fast can you shear a sheep?

Ivan Scott from Co. Donegal has sheared his way into the Guinness Book of World Records and the evidence was seen tonight on RTÉ’s opening episode of Big Week on the Farm.

The Donegal man, who is 33, also holds the World Record for ‘number of sheep sheared’ in eight hours, which he earned after shaving 744 lambs in that time in 2012.

Tonight, you can watch him narrowly break the previous record of 37.9 seconds by the wool of his teeth – beating the record by 1.41 seconds.

In that time, Ivan managed to shave off over three kilos of wool. Now that’s what we call a Woolled Record (we really apologise).

The series will continue tomorrow at 7pm, with country singer Nathan Carter as a guest.
