A return to Hogwarts plus 7 more new movies and shows to watch this weekend

Including Netflix’s documentary on Jimmy Savile, Ridley Scott’s latest sci-fi outing and Chris Pine’s new spy thriller.

Another jammers week for all things movies and TV!

To kick things off, here are the movies which will all be available on the big screens around Ireland from Friday, 8 April.

FANTASTIC BEASTS: THE SECRETS OF DUMBLEDORE

Four years on since The Crimes Of Grindelwald, the third outing for the Fantastic Beasts series will focus on a young(ish) Dumbledore (Jude Law) as he and his fellow good wizards must decide how long they’ll stay on the sidelines during the lead-up to the World War II.

THE OUTFIT

Leonard (Mark Rylance) is an English tailor who makes suits on London’s famous Savile Row. He must outsmart a dangerous group of criminals to survive a fateful night.

JIMMY SAVILE: A BRITISH HORROR STORY

TV star Jimmy Savile charmed a nation with his eccentricity and philanthropy. But sexual abuse allegations expose a shocking unseen side of his persona.

The documentary is available to watch on Netflix right now.

RAISED BY WOLVES SEASON TWO

We return to this epic sci-fi story centred around a group of human children and their android protectors attempting to start a new life on an alien world after Earth has been essentially destroyed. But some other human survivors, as well as some threats native to the planet, bring a lot of trouble to this makeshift family.

All eight episodes of the second season are available to watch with a NOW Entertainment Membership right now.

SINGLE DRUNK FEMALE

With 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, this comedy drama tells the story of Samantha Fink (Sofia Black-D’Elia), who is forced to move back home with her overbearing mother and sober up after suffering from a very public breakdown.

All ten episodes of the first season will be available to watch on Disney+ right now.

ALL THE OLD KNIVES

Chris Pine, Thandiwe Newton, Laurence Fishburne and Jonathan Pryce star in this tense espionage thriller. When the CIA discover that a mole within their organisation revealed information that led to the deaths of over 100 people, an agent (Pine) is sent on a global journey to discover their identity.

The movie is available on Prime Video from Friday, 8 April.

ANTLERS

A truly unsettling horror movie about a small town teacher (Keri Russell) and her sheriff brother (Jesse Plemons) who believe a young boy has a potentially very disruptive home life. When they go investigating, they discover something truly terrifying…

THE BOSS BABY 2: FAMILY BUSINESS

The sequel to the hit 2017 animated movie sees the business-minded babies take on an evil professor who wants to remove childhoods worldwide. The great voice cast list includes Jeff Goldblum, Amy Sedaris, James Marsden, Alec Baldwin, Lisa Kudrow, Eva Longoria and Jimmy Kimmel.
