The film so good, they had to invent a new category at the Oscars.
The first post-Paddy’s-Weekend day of work has finally come to an end.
Whether you’ve closed the laptop, left the site, or hung up your apron…
You deserve to treat yourself.
And no better way than to watch a good film tonight.
Here’s JOE’s top picks for the movies on TV this Monday (21 March).
Psycho – Horror Channel – 9pm
Not the original, but the very strange 90s remake starring Vince Vaughn and Julianne Moore.
Collateral – ITV4 – 9pm
Michael Mann (Heat) directs this thriller starring taxi driver Jamie Foxx and hitman Tom Cruise.
Doineann – TG4 – 9.30pm
Easily one of the best films to come out of Ireland in recent years, and it’s entirely as Gaeilge. Go hiontach.
Hellraiser – Horror Channel – 11pm
A very spooky, very sexy horror flick.
Slaughterhouse Rulez – Film4 – 11.15pm
The first film from Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s production company.
Mad Max – ITV4 – 11.25pm
If you were stuck in a post-apocalyptic Australian wasteland, you’d be pretty mad too.
The Elephant Man – BBC2 – 12.05am
Our top pick for tonight is a beautiful biographical drama from the mind of David Lynch.
The film was so good, it inspired the Oscars to create an entire new category entirely dedicated to makeup artists due to the effects used for John Hurt’s performance.
What a performance, as well. Even if you aren’t a fan of Lynch’s work, this is a must-see film.
