If you’ve never seen it, now’s the time to rectify that.

By this point, you should know the drill.

Every night, there’s a bunch of movies on the telly and every day, we give you the details about them.

Here’s what’s on the box tonight on Wednesday, 23 March.

Jaws – ITV 4 – 9pm

In our pick for tonight, a killer shark terrorises a beach community as a local sheriff (Roy Scheider), a marine biologist (Richard Dreyfuss) and an old seafarer (Robert Shaw) become determined to hunt the beast down.

Widely considered the prototypical “blockbuster” or “event film”, with its great performances, tense set-pieces, and of course, iconic score, Jaws still remains thrilling nearly 50 years after its release.

It also put its young whippersnapper director Steven Spielberg on the map and terrified many viewers away from stepping foot in the ocean.

xXx: State of the Union – Film4 – 9pm

Ice Cube replaces Vin Diesel as the lead in this action spy sequel.

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm

Guy Ritchie’s take on the legend starring Sons of Anarchy’s Charlie Hunnam.

Listen to Me Marlon – Sky Arts – 9pm

An acclaimed documentary all about Hollywood icon Marlon Brando.

Act of Union – TG4 – 9.30pm

Another documentary, this time detailing the conflicting narratives of the Troubles in Northern Ireland.

Universal Soldier – Horror Channel – 11.05pm

This ’90s sci-fi action flick sees Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren face-off as US soldiers killed in Vietnam but brought back to life for a secret military programme.

Mean Machine – Film4 – 11.05pm

This British version of The Longest Yard changes the central sport to association football and stars Vinnie Jones.

Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome – ITV 4 – 11.40pm

Mel Gibson stars opposite Tina Turner in this third entry in the iconic post-apocalyptic action franchise.
