It is the third entry in a legendary franchise.
Netflix has just added a thriller series from the creator of Derry Girls to its service. However, if you need something else to watch tonight, here are the movies airing on TV, starting with:
Jurassic Park III – Sky Showcase – 8pm
Our pick for tonight is this third movie in the Jurassic Park franchise that revolves around a divorced couple (Téa Leoni and William H. Macy) who deceive paleontologist Dr. Alan Grant (a returning Sam Neill) into helping them find their son, who has gone missing on dinosaur island Isla Sorna.
The first in the franchise not to be helmed by the legendary Steven Spielberg, Jurassic Park III is notable for being made without a completed script – leading to its storyline being criticised by many (including JOE’s own Rory Cashin in-depth right here). That said, the only 92-minute-long flick has been praised by some for its dino B-movie thrills.
Mechanic: Resurrection – Film4 – 9pm
A forgettable sequel to a quite fun Jason Statham action vehicle.
The Stakelander – Horror Xtra – 9pm
Another sequel, this time to the very solid indie post-apocalyptic vampire horror Stake Land.
The Lighthorsemen – Turner Classic Movies – 9pm
An Australian World War I drama based on true events.

An infamous still from our pick for tonight – Jurassic Park III
The Lovers – TG4 – 9.30pm
Debra Winger and Tracy Letts star in this well-reviewed indie comedy as a married couple who are each embroiled in an extramarital affair.
Speed – ITV4 – 10pm
The movie Homer Simpson once called: “The bus that couldn’t slow down”.
The Killing of Two Lovers – Film4 – 10.55pm
This 2020 US drama about a man (Clayne Crawford) desperately trying to keep his family of six together during a separation from his wife (Sepideh Moafi) has a 93% Rotten Tomatoes score.
The Ghost Writer – AMC – 10.55pm
Ewan McGregor and Pierce Brosnan are among the cast of this political thriller based on a Robert Harris novel.
National Lampoon’s European Vacation – Turner Classic Movies – 11.25pm
The Griswold family wins an all-expense-paid trip to Europe in this comedy sequel.
