Sounds like someone’s got a case of the Mondays.
And that someone would be us. Possibly even you, too.
It is Monday, after all.
Still, it’s pretty nice outside, so that’s something, right?
Back inside, we’ve got a handful of movies to watch on TV tonight – Monday 25 February – so let’s get to it…
Jaws – ITV4 – 9pm
Shark attacks.
Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World – SyFy – 9pm
Edgar Wright focuses a kinetic lens on this fast-paced pop culture adventure as Michael Cera’s slacker musician runs afoul of love to the point that he must battle a barrage of “evil exes” in order to win the day.
SPVTW is regarded as a cult classic, having not quite scaled the box office as hoped for.
It’s a visual feast, and a reminder that Ant-Man surely would have been much more inventive in Wright’s grasp.
True Lies – Film 4 – 9pm
“When he said I do, he never said what he did” remains one of the great movie taglines.
Here, it refers to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s secret agent as he attempts to juggle saving the world with being a family man. Jamie Lee Curtis and the late Bill Paxton provide support.
Passenger 57 – TCM – 9pm
Wesley Snipes with his very own ‘Die Hard on a plane’ vehicle.
Burn After Reading – TG4 – 9.30pm
Fairly aptly-titled given there’s really no reason to watch Burn After Reading more than once, but it’s decent hokum nonetheless.
The Coen Brothers weave a darkly comic tale of highly inept people (George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Frances McDormand, John Malkovich, Richard Jenkins) who run into a great deal of trouble with bloody results.
Ida – Film 4 – 11.45pm
Excellent Oscar-winning black-and-white drama set in 1960s Poland as a nun receives some shocking views right as she’s about to take her vows.
